Hingol National Park & Princess Of Hope

The Princess of Hope is a natural rock formation located in the Hingol National Park in the Lasbela District of Balochistan province, Pakistan. It is approximately 190 km (120 mi) from Karachi, the financial hub of Pakistan, and around 717 km (446 mi) from Quetta, the provincial capital.

This unique rock formation is classified as a hoodoo or "fairy chimney," characterized by its tall, slender shape. It resembles a crowned and skirted female figure gazing towards the horizon. The region of Balochistan, including the Hingol National Park, features a mountainous landscape with scenic gorges and intriguing formations shaped by erosion.
The name "Princess of Hope" was given to the rock formation by Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie during her visit to Pakistan in 2002 as a UN Goodwill Ambassador. She coined the name spontaneously upon seeing the shape of the rock, and it has since become its commonly recognized name.

Another notable rock formation in the vicinity is the "Balochistan Sphinx," also known as the "Lion of Balochistan" or Abul-Hol. This sphinx-like formation is located near the Princess of Hope and can be seen from the Buzi Pass section of the Makran Coastal Highway.
